Digerils is a combination of the words digital and perils. The term has been used to describe a various threats that can cause loss of digital data.
With the increasing penetration of computers into every sphere of life – be it studies, business, healthcare , communication or defense , the risk to data stored digitally has increased many times. Besides risks due to natural disasters (such as
flood, earthquake etc.), the risks of hardware failures and also of being altered, deleted , stolen or corrupted by malicious persons has grown many fold due to internet connectivity and wide spread usage of portable storage media. The digital data is under constant threat.
Digital Perils or Digerils is a term that may be used to describe all the threats that can lead to any kind of loss or harm to digital data
